Krista has a broad practice involving the defense of hospitals and healthcare providers. Her practice includes litigation, contracts, insurance coverage, and appeals. Krista’s appellate and insurance coverage experience enable her to provide clients with unique, thorough and comprehensive opinions as to the many trial issues, theories, defenses, and arguments inherent in the litigation and trial process.
Krista practices in both State and Federal Courts. Krista’s insurance coverage and appellate practice span various courts, including the Illinois Supreme Court, all districts of the Illinois Appellate Courts, United States District Court for the Seventh Circuit, United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, Texas Supreme Court, and Wisconsin Court of Appeals. Krista is a member of the American Bar Association, the Chicago Bar Association, the Illinois Appellate Lawyers Association, the Chicagoland Healthcare Risk Management Society, and the Illinois Society of Trial Lawyers.
Krista also assists clients in areas of quality, risk management, contracts, and privilege, and provides in service seminars and presentations to help clients remain current with Illinois law, litigation, and discovery trends.
Krista’s article, “Silicone, Science and Settlements: Breast Implants and a Search for the Truth” was published in the Illinois Association of Defense Counsel Journal. She continues to contribute to publications in both the legal and risk management arenas.
Krista was admitted to the Illinois Bar in November 1996 and the New Jersey Bar in 1997, after receiving her J.D. from Hofstra University School of Law. While at Hofstra, Krista worked with Circuit Court and Superior Court judges, and clerked for the Honorable Thomas H. Dilts in the Superior Court of New Jersey. Krista also worked in the child advocacy and family law departments in the Circuit Court of Nassau County, New York.
