Chris concentrates his practice in medical malpractice defense, torts, and general civil litigation. Since entering private practice, Chris has successfully defended his clients in a variety of contexts in both State and Federal court, obtaining favorable results through dispositive motion practice and at trial. Chris is also a member of the Trial Bar of the United States District Court, Northern District of Illinois.

Prior to joining Barker, Castro, Kuban & Steinback, Chris worked as an Assistant State’s Attorney with the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office, gaining extensive litigation experience. He began his career in the Public Interest - Civil Division, where he represented Healthcare and Family Services in the courtroom on a daily basis. He transitioned to the Criminal Division in 2008, where he gained valuable trial experience prosecuting a variety of crimes. As a prosecutor, Chris tried hundreds of cases, including nine jury trials which he took to verdict as a first chair.

Chris received his J.D. from DePaul College of Law in 2006, where he also received the CALI award for achievement in Advanced Trial Advocacy. Prior to law school, Chris completed his undergraduate education at Augustana College, where he majored in Biology. Chris has presented at conferences held by the Chicago Bar Association and the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office.
